去年8月蘇迪勒颱風來襲，大甲文昌祠周邊的文昌國小舊宿舍群發生火災，燒毀兩棟木造建築，現場凌亂不堪。
林佳龍向交通部觀光局爭取新台幣1000萬元經費，在蔡其昌協助下，1年內即將該處改造為遊憩設施，成為民眾造訪大甲文昌祠後的休憩場所。
「台中市大甲區遊憩設施景觀改造工程」竣工典禮今天舉行，由林佳龍主持，蔡其昌、台中市議員吳敏濟等人出席，遊憩設施位於大甲文昌祠旁，以文昌祠元素為意象，設計甕形入口、夫子公仔藝術牆、說書木平台、休憩亭、多功能廣場等，今年1月動工、8月完工。
林佳龍致詞時表示，在蔡其昌爭取經費、市府高效率落實之下，休憩設施在短短1年內落實，未來旅客來到大甲，除了在鎮瀾宮拜媽祖，也能騎著iBike到市定古蹟文昌祠走走。
林佳龍指出，大甲區多項建設都在推動中，市府編列4000萬元，配合鐵路高架化打通大甲車站前後站；此外，日治時期興建的日南火車站也將風華再現，搭配鐵砧山露營區周邊遊憩設施改善，希望在海線雙星以外，還能打造鐵砧山、鰲峰山這兩個「海線雙丘」。
蔡其昌指出，他已向中央爭取2000萬元經費，並協調市府撥出2000萬元配合款，共4000萬元讓鐵砧山恢復榮景，相信在中央地方不分黨派合作之下，大甲將能成為觀光好所在、生活好地方。1050911
